Snapping his two-year hiatus tonight at UFC 312, Australian gentle heavyweight contender, Jimmy Crute was crushed to a choice win tonight — in an eventual majority draw in opposition to Brazilian foe, Rafael Bellato, with the latter rallying to avoid wasting himself a loss tonight in Sydney.
Crute, a former ranked gentle heavyweight contender, had been sidelined since he featured again in 2023 in opposition to Alonzo Menifield, dropping a gap spherical guillotine choke submission loss.
Previous to that, New South Wales native, Crute had suffered back-to-back stoppage losses to former title challenger, Anthony Smith, and a knockout loss to former undisputed champion, Jamahal Hill.
And handing over a powerful opening spherical in his return to the Octagon, Crute was pegged again within the second and third rounds by the above-mentioned, Bellato — with the duo preventing to an eventual majority choice (29-27, 28-28, 28-28).
